I am astounded at the price of greeting cards today! I was thinking about what could be used as an alternative to expensive cards that, in all honesty, are discarded (see what I did there?) and came up with this project. The book would be given to the recipient, with the promise of correspondence to fill it up. I made the original rather generic, but it could easily be marketed for various relationships: grandparents and grandchildren, long distance romantics, family and deployed soldiers, and the possibilities go on. My next step with this project would be to package it with a fancy pen, paper and envelopes, and a letter writing guide with ideas to write about and proper letter etiquette. The old is new again!
